High Point, North Carolina, September 10, 2013

The production floor is about to make a huge change at a High Point, North Carolina printing company. In order to better serve the folded carton and other lithographic customers, Wayne Trademark is installing a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74 offset press, and product owners can realize the benefits of the increased production capacity. Print buyers in the automotive, garment and food industries will now have a source for higher quality print products on a shorter schedule.

The Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74 design allows for single operator production by utilizing autoplate and automatic wash up for quick changeovers, along with automated sheet feed and delivery systems to increase production. This press is recognized worldwide as the first printing press to become a recipient of the most prestigious German design prize, the Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, an award sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Tighter color controls will give customers the market impact they need, and the increase in throughput delivers the turnaround time they expect.

Doug Burrow, Chief Operating Officer at Wayne Trademark expects a leap in customer satisfaction and company growth with the addition of this press. "By being able to offer our customers 6 colors or 2 colors over 4 inline, along with anilox technology coating, we are moving forward as a company. Additionally, being able to print up to .030 thick grain short board opens some doors for us. We expect the increase in print production to be the biggest boost we have experienced in our 75 years of operation."

Given today's fast paced business model, manufacturers often need large orders printed in tighter schedules more than ever before. Technology improvements are often the key to meeting those demands. Faster setups, changeovers and print runs transfer to improved end user scheduling abilities. Manufacturers can expect to feel the benefits when a supplier makes machinery investments.

Wayne Trademark has been in business since 1938, going from a small printing company to a major player in the tag, label and folded carton industry. Serving the garment, food and beverage, automotive and other fields, the company has gone from one small heat transfer press to offering customers flexographic, offset, and digital technologies.
